Union and Confederate soldiers collided at the crossroads known as Cold Harbor on May 31st, 1864. The battlefield is preserved as part of the Richmond National Battlefield Park and includes a driving tour, hiking trails, and numerous Civil War treches and rifle pits. There is also a visitor center at the site.
