VPM News: Hanover tour brings history of religious freedom in Virginia to life

Hanover County brought Virginia history to life last weekend with a tour of its historic churches and monuments, hosted as part of the ongoing celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary and Virginia’s role in American independence.

Amber Hawkins, chair of Hanover’s VA250 Commission, said the Voices of Freedom Tour was the signature event for the county, focusing on interconnected stories of how united dissent inspired ideas for religious freedom.
