Slash Church survives as the oldest and best preserved frame church in Virginia. Reverend Patrick Henry, uncle to Patrick Henry, served as rector at the church from 1737 to 1777, and church records can trace famous figures that worshipped there including Patrick Henry, Dolley Madison, and Henry Clay.
